Wednesday night was pretty much an enjoyable experience as compared to the many times I went clubbing previously. It was a hasty and sudden decision as Ian called us on the day itself, claiming to have many free tickets into Centro. Well, in a big group of roughly 10 pple, we went.
There was already a crowd when we arrived, gathered mostly in front of the bar. Freeflow from 9-11pm, no wonder. I hate squeezing with people for the free drinks, so after 1 glass, I gave up and returned to our seats. The music started to get better only at 11 plus. First they played a song by All Saints, and then Christina Aguilera. That got us scratching our heads. What was the theme, we wondered. From pop, the music progressed to Retro and that was when the dancefloor filled with people. After maybe half an hour later, Top 40s took over. From that moment on, we practically danced the whole night away, with a good mix of dance genres like RnB and remixes of classics as old as the Beatles. It was such gd laughter and fun, despite all of us being guys.
I must say that it was a refreshing change for Centro, which I think must be a tactic to counter the effectiveness of Mambo Night at Zouk. Well, it's Ladies Night at Centro too on Wednesday. And freeflow for the guys start from 9-11pm. For ladies, it's free all night.
